The Villa Kathrine owned by the Quincy Park District is home to the Quincy Tourist Information Center and the Quincy Convention and Visitors Bureau. Organized in 1978 Friends of the Castle for the purpose of restoring, maintaining, and operating the Villa Kathrine for generations to come. A nonprofit corporation Friends of the Castle supports the Villa Kathrine through fundraising and volunteer coordination. Donations support preservation projects, educational programs and visitor experiences.

Built in 1900 by world traveler George Metz, Villa Kathrine stands as a reflection of his adventures and imagination. Inspired by the architecture he admired abroad, the Villa brings a touch of the Mediterranean to the banks of the Mississippi.
